Job Title:    Sales & Distribution Driver (Several Jobs)
Organisation: Soroti Fruits Limited (SOFTE)
Duty Station: Uganda
Reports to: Quality Control & Assurance Manager
 
About US:
Soroti Fruits Limited (SOFTE) is a fruit processing plant and a subsidiary of Uganda Development Corporation (UDC). The company will also produce ready to drink fruit juice as well as concentrates from Ugandan produced fruits notably Oranges, Mangoes and Pineapples.
 
Job Summary:  The Sales & Distribution Drivers will sell and or deliver company goods and merchandise directly from their company van or truck within the assigned territory.
 
Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

Driving a truck while making deliveries and or selling products to customers.
Delivering purchase orders and informing existing customers of any new products and offers.
Increasing sales by promoting products and providing feedback about competitor behavior.
Accounting for the safe and timely delivery of purchased products.
Maintaining sales and delivery records.
Achievement of sales and delivery targets.
Preventing damage to the delivery truck/van and the company products being transported.
Ensuring the cleanliness of the interior and the exterior of the van/ truck.
Performing basic truck /van maintenance tasks, such as checking tyre pressure, gas and oil levels.
Identifying new sales opportunities.
Identification, recruitment and retention of new potential customers in the assigned area.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

The applicant must hold a Valid driver’s license with Class C and D and a clean driving record.
UACE certificate with at least a principal pass or its equivalent
A diploma in marketing shall be an added advantage
Three years of experience as a Driver salesman in an FMCG set up.
Exceptional ability in meeting sales and delivery targets.
Extensive experience in identifying, recruitment and retention of new customers and opening new markets.
Ability to assume responsibility for the delivery truck and the products there-in.
Experience in recordkeeping and use of sales and stock documents.
Working knowledge of basic truck maintenance.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to communicate in languages appropriate to the area of deployment
