Finally, WFP works with smallholder farmers and links them to markets.As Uganda strives to achieve Zero Hunger by 2030 and become a middle-income country by 2040, WFP is also assessing its relevance and repositioning its role in Uganda.ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXTThe World Food Programme is the world’s largest humanitarian agency, fighting hunger worldwide. We are currently seeking to fill an internship position (IT) under the WFP Uganda, Gulu. The position will be based in Gulu, Uganda. The Internship will be for an initial period of six (6) months.JOB PURPOSEThe Intern will play a key role in IT support during GFA activities in Adjumani, data updates, reconciliation, and monitoring of key programme activities under the Gulu field officeKEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)Support the setup of distribution sites and ensure all food commodities are well documented and captured.Conduct routine Cash Based Transfer reconciliation activities in field on a daily and provide weekly reports that contribute to the settlement weekly and monthly reports.Support Refugee hosting DLG adopt digital data management systems in other programmes – social protection program, Asset creation and AMSCollect and summarize assistance programme(s) data, collaborating with key stakeholders where required, conduct analysis, and prepare reports to support programme reviews and informative decision-making.Ensure timely receipt of the monthly distribution reports and data entry is done and timely submitted. Efficient reporting on GFA activities and performances to support reconciliationTake responsibility for program data integrity to facilitate availability of accurate information in corporate systems. Upheld compliance with IT security standardsIdentify discrepancies in statistics and data, such as missing information, inaccurate information from partner and report to senior staff to support partners to deliver their work.Undertaken routine data business support analysis of pre and post GDT data on trend anomalies to ensure services are delivered consistently and to the required standards to contribute to the visibility of WFP in the coverage areas.Supportincollectingdistributionsite,FoodBasketmonitoring,CashBasketMonitoring,Marketdataand any other assessments carried out in the refugee settlement and ensure all data is timely uploaded monthly.Take responsibility for the maintenance of set standard systems, databases, and files, to ensure information is accurate and readily available for the function.STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSRecent graduate (2019 – 2022) with a bachelors degree in IT or any related field.Fluent in English (oral and written)DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS28th January 2022All employment decisions are made on the basis of organizational needs, job requirements, merit, and individual qualifications.
