Responsibilities
Job Purpose:
The Head of People and Culture will typically oversee all aspects related to human resources, employee development and fostering a positive workplace culture within Pride. He/she will be responsible for talent acquisition, performance management, employee engagement and ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations, coupled with ensuring that the HR practices effectively support execution of the Pride’s strategic plan and long-term vision.
Responsibilities:
• Accountable for guiding the implementation of the Pride’s Human Resource strategy and implementation of all supporting policies and procedures.
• Guides Pride’s leadership team on implementation of key initiatives geared towards improving the Pride’s human capital to support the business.
• Accountable for developing the Pride’s annual Human Resource plan and budget and its implementation.
• Accountable for guiding management to innovate people management practices that promote productivity, organizational efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
• Accountable for guiding the management of change across the organisation, including but not limited to culture change initiatives to ensure that the conduct of all Pride staff supports achievement of Pride’s long term strategic objectives.
• Accountable for guiding management to deliver effective people management processes including performance management, talent management, succession planning, training and staff career development and succession planning.
• Provide leadership to the People & Culture team and guide them to implement best practices in all facets of the employee life cycle management including recruitment, selection and retention strategies, performance management, reward management, staff training and development, disciplinary process as well as management of exit processes etc.
• Accountable for guiding compliance to approved internal HR policies and procedures as well as compliance to national employment laws and regulations.
• Responsible for effective employee relations, grievance handling, occupational health and safely in line with the regulatory framework and best HR practice.
• Responsible for effective management and development of own function, including training and developing a team of professional HR staff that can effectively offer required HR support to the business.
Qualifications
• Master’s degree in human resources management or Organisational Psychology or Business Administration or related HRM qualification.
• A first degree in human Resource Management, Organisational Psychology or relevant studies in Humanities.
• Professional certification e.g. CIPD and/or membership to professional organisations e.g. HRMAU, SHRM is added advantage.
Details of experience
• The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in Human Resource Management practice with prior experience in implementing HR activities during a transformational (change) phase.
• At least 5 years should have been attained at a senior management level, preferably in a financial Institution.
• Demonstrated experience in managing culture change.
• Proven experience of implementing core employee life cycle process during a period of transition.
